
Usability/Why I’m still fixing the site.

UPDATE: Looks like I finished it. What’s now left to do? Well in my mind… I want to get a creative yet automatic way of updating the speech bubble… Or should I say Brennan Bubble
Never-the-less, you are here… So What’s going on that I’m warning you about?
Nothing HUGE, but it should make some large usability improvements to the site. Eye mileage from reading to navigating back home is insane, and I’ll admit, confusining (even to me). This is why you have to actually test out things like where button and navigation placements are.
You can’t throw navigation links anywhere… Yet, you don’t (or at least I don’t) want to follow the standard navigation scheme that the world forces us to. However for it to be usable by your readers (and yourself) it has to be familiar enough that they know where to look. Smashing Magazine has a great article about Horizontal Navigation which has some great information.
So what should you expect? Here’s a rough idea of what’ll end up being:
